FAQs: Infrared Saunas & Outdoor Garden Saunas
What's the difference between an infrared sauna and a traditional sauna?
A traditional sauna heats the air around you — usually to very high temperatures — using a stove or steam. An infrared sauna uses infrared panels to warm your body directly, at a much lower air temperature (typically 40–60°C). This makes infrared saunas more comfortable for longer sessions, easier to run at home, and quicker to reach temperature. Our hybrid Oval Barrel Sauna gives you both options in one unit, so you can choose your experience each time.
Can I use a home infrared sauna indoors?
Yes — our Chilliwack and Tremblant home infrared saunas are designed specifically for indoor use. They run on a standard household power supply, heat up in around 15–20 minutes, and fit comfortably in a spare room, garage, or home gym. No specialist installation is required beyond a suitable floor space and a power connection.
Is the Oval Barrel Sauna suitable for year-round use in the UK?
Yes. The Oval Hybrid Outdoor Barrel Sauna is built for outdoor use in all weather conditions. The barrel shape naturally circulates heat efficiently and sheds rain well, making it a practical choice for the UK climate. The hybrid heating system means you can use traditional heat for a warming winter session or switch to infrared for a gentler experience in warmer months. It's a genuine year-round wellness feature for your garden.
